Disconnected systems. Unified delivery.

From siloed tools to an enterprise-wide platform.

At HPE, scaling design wasn’t about adding headcount. It meant redefining how a recently merged team of 60+ designers and researchers worked across a fragmented R&D environment.
Design lacked visibility, delivery was inconsistent, and its impact
was hard to measure.

I built a scalable Jira ecosystem, introduced outcome-based UX metrics, and created frameworks that aligned teams and accelerated delivery across the organisation.

Curious about HPE?
Let’s walk through how we moved from fragmented tools to focused delivery, and helped design operate as a strategic force.

Role

Head of DesignOps
Led DesignOps for a 60+ person global org. Scaled systems, aligned metrics to business goals, and improved visibility, delivery, and team health.

Problems

Disconnected tools and no workflow visibility

No shared approach to prioritisation, tracking, or delivery

Low morale and unclear growth paths for ICs and leaders

Design challenge

Unify design delivery across HPE’s Hybrid Cloud org by building systems and structures that enable consistent, strategic execution at scale.

Outcomes

Introduced outcome-based UX metrics tied to business priorities

Raised Voice of the Workforce scores from low 60s to mid 80s year over year

Created career frameworks for ICs and design leaders

Defined a new vision, mission, values, and design principles
